Role Summary:
The SCADA Design Engineer is responsible for creating detailed designs, configurations, and documentation for SCADA systems used in industrial automation, power, and renewable energy projects. This includes developing system architecture, network diagrams, and control philosophies; preparing signal lists and cable schedules; selecting appropriate hardware and communication protocols; and configuring SCADA/HMI software. The role involves close coordination with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure that designs meet technical specifications, industry standards, and project timelines.
Travel Requirement: ~20%, to project sites and vendor premises

Responsibilities & Duties:
●    Design, prepare and review SCADA architecture, CCTV architecture, PLC specification, SCADA server specification, IO list, Electrical schematics, GA diagrams, GTP's of Switchgear, control gear, instruments, communication devices, CCTV etc.
●    Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA systems, preferably in the RENEWABLE/Transmission substation (400KV/220KV/132KV/33KV) energy sector.
●    Technical scrutiny of bid enquiries & BOQs for tender purposes.
●    Technical support for Prebid and post-bid engineering for SCADA/SAS, BESS, FAS, CCTV, WMS requirements.
●    Preparation/checking of design documents and drawings.
●    Review and evaluate techno-commercial offers received from Vendors.
●    Preparation of tentative BOQs after award of contract.
●    Conducting site visits, supporting site team in project commissioning, witness tests at vendor's factory premises.
●    Preparing and sending document transmittal letters for designs and drawings.
●    Programming knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems will be an added advantage.
●    Communication protocol understanding and implementation knowledge of various equipment.
●    Witness of PLC panel Inspections, FAT, Validation of Development of SCADA.
●    Monitoring SCADA for Solar and Wind plant operation for data validation and O&M Supporting roles.
●    Site visit for Whole solution implementation co-ordination whenever necessary for SCADA.
●    Coordination with different OEMs for Communication protocol implementation with SCADA for technical support.
●    Design of CCTV, FAS, WMS and FO networks.
●    Knowledge of Curtailment, PPC, and HPPC will be an added advantage.
●    Familiarity with communication protocols used in SCADA systems, including Modbus, OPC etc.
●    Provide training and support to operations and maintenance teams on the use of SCADA systems and related technologies.
●    Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
●    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and technicians, to implement SCADA solutions effectively.
●    Knowledge of Wind SCADA and BESS.

Mandatory Requirements:
●    Must have Renewable Energy Plants (Solar, Wind), SAS Design Experience.
●    Must have EPC projects Design Experience.
●    Should have solar, wind sites and substation Exposer.

Skills & Competencies:
●  MS Office: - MS Word / Excel / Power Point.
●    AutoCAD.
●    Design knowledge of SCADA architecture for Solar and Sub-Station Automation.
●    IoT device knowledge will be an added advantage.
●    Exposure to PLC/SCADA platforms from major automation OEMs (e.g., Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB Etc) is an added advantage.
●    Familiarity with IEC 61850 or other substation communication standards is an added advantage.

Requirements:
●    Strong problem-solving skills and a self-driven approach.

●    B. E. / B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics or Instrumentation or Electronics and communication Engineering
●    20% travel to site and vendor's places as & when required.
●    Witnessing different equipment inspections based on business requirements.
●    Flexible in nature to adapt different geographical locations.
