Founded by Kuldeep Jain (Ex-McKinsey), CleanMax started operations in 2010 with the vision of being the “Net Zero partners for corporate consumers”. It initially started as a rooftop solar developer in India but soon added new products, including large-scale wind and solar farms, and expanded to new geographies in UAE & Southeast Asia. CleanMax serves clients like Meta, Amazon, Google, Apple, Intel, Cisco, TVS group, Tata Motors, Adobe, Accenture, Unilever, GE, Mahindra & Mahindra, UPL, etc.
The Carbon Business offers a full-stack solution for carbon credits. It is involved in the active trading of environmental commodities (~2 million credits in FY2025). At the same time, it also invests and develops community-based carbon reduction projects in India, particularly focusing on agroforestry projects.
Job Overview
The primary objective of the incumbent will be to execute ongoing validation and verification of community or renewable energy projects across the globe. He or she shall ensure adherence to carbon offset methodologies while applying advanced techniques to estimate emission reductions. He or she shall support projects to meet their objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution of emission reduction/mitigation projects within the framework of community-level projects, renewable energy projects, and biogas as well as other project types under the current global standards such as VERRA, Gold Standard, GCC, and upcoming standards.
- Execution and management of I-REC & TIGR projects and timely delivery to customers.
- Independently manage validation and verification audits and preparation of relevant documentation and reports as per relevant Registry guidelines.
- Interface between the customers and other cross-functional support teams.
- Stay abreast of emerging carbon offset standards and methodologies. Keep the team updated about the project guidelines.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with project advocates, investors, and stakeholders.
- Encourage collaboration and communication among pertinent parties.
- Offer technical insights into new project prospects.
Key Qualifications & Skills
Must have:
- University Degree, preferably in Engineering, or a master’s in climate sciences, or environmental studies.
- Proficiency in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Verra, The Gold Standard (GS), and Global Carbon Council (GCC) standards and projects.
- Demonstrated success in working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-starter and manages the execution of projects independently.
- Ability to work on assignments that are diverse and make independent decisions.
- Strong sense of judgment and bias for action, even in ambiguous situations.
- Ability to wear different hats and perform multiple activities.
- Experience in the execution of carbon projects (renewable or community-based programs or large-scale).
- Team player with strong communication skills.
