Job Overview
The incumbent will be responsible for growing our Carbon and IREC Consulting division across the APAC region. This role involves scouting and securing new business opportunities in carbon credits and International Renewable Energy Certificates (IRECs), fostering long-term client relationships with project developers, investors, and stakeholders, and crafting strategic partnerships.
The ideal candidate will leverage market insights to negotiate high-value contracts, oversee end-to-end project lifecycles, and align CleanMax's services with client sustainability goals, driving revenue expansion in voluntary and compliance carbon markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue and originate new business opportunities in carbon and IREC markets through market research and lead generation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with project developers, investors, and key stakeholders in carbon and IREC projects.
- Develop strategic partnerships and negotiate contracts to secure high-value engagements.
- Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, from proposal development to service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, technical, operations) to customise services aligning with client objectives.
- Create and execute business development strategies to expand CleanMax's carbon consulting footprint.
Key Qualifications & Skills
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, environmental science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in business development within sustainability markets, carbon and IREC consulting, or related sectors.
- Thorough understanding of voluntary carbon and IREC mechanisms, including but not limited to CDM, Gold Standard, Verra, Article 6.2 & 6.4, and Indian Carbon Markets.
- Basic understanding of regulations surrounding carbon credit and IREC projects.
- Proven track record in APAC markets with experience handling carbon projects.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent market research and proposal writing abilities.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative business strategies.
Good to have:
- In-depth knowledge of Indian RCO and CCTS compliance requirements.
- Understanding of sustainability frameworks including RE100, SBTi, GHGP, and BRSR.
- Proficiency in Excel-based financial modelling and scenario analysis for carbon/IREC pricing.
