Role Summary
The Regulatory Associate will be responsible for handling statutory approvals, licenses, permits, and ongoing regulatory compliance for solar and/or wind power projects. The role involves close coordination with government departments, internal project teams, and consultants to ensure timely approvals and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaison with central, state, and local government authorities for regulatory approvals and clearances.
- Manage end-to-end regulatory documentation for renewable energy projects (solar/wind), including applications, renewals, and amendments.
- Coordinate for approvals related to land, power evacuation, grid connectivity, DISCOMs, and statutory bodies.
- Track changes in applicable laws, rules, policies, and notifications impacting renewable energy projects.
- Ensure compliance with state and central regulatory requirements during project development and execution.
- Maintain and update regulatory trackers, MIS reports, and approval status dashboards.
- Support internal stakeholders (Project Development, Engineering, Legal, and Operations teams) on regulatory matters.
- Handle inspections, audits, and site visits by regulatory authorities.
- Follow up with departments to ensure timely closure of pending approvals and issues.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks related to power, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with state and central government procedures and approval mechanisms.
- Good drafting and documentation skills.
- Strong coordination, follow-up, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience in Rajasthan power/renewable energy regulations.
- Experience working with DISCOMs, RRECL, MNRE, or related authorities.
- Willingness to travel within Rajasthan as required.
