Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced professional to support our capex sales and engineering teams during both the pre-bid and post-award phases of utility-scale renewable energy projects. The role involves reviewing client RFQs, preparing technical proposals, BOQs, and DBRs, and later coordinating detailed engineering activities once the project is awarded. The ideal candidate should have strong technical depth, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver under tight timelines.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Pre-Bid Engineering
· Review RFQs, technical specifications, and client requirements.
· Prepare Design Basis Reports (DBR) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for tender submissions.
· Develop and review AC/DC SLDs, preliminary layouts, and system configurations.
· Identify technical deviations, raise technical queries, and support client discussions.
· Work closely with the capex/sales team to optimize designs for cost competitiveness.
Post-Award Detailed Engineering
· Lead technical coordination with clients, vendors, and internal teams after project award.
· Review and finalize detailed layouts, cable schedules, earthing & lightning protection systems, and all related engineering deliverables.
· Review vendor GTPs, data sheets, and engineering drawings.
· Ensure compliance with relevant IS/IEC standards and project-specific requirements.
· Support approval processes as per MDL and ensure timely delivery of engineering documents.
Technical Tools & Software
· Hands-on experience with PVsyst, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Dialux, and MS Office.
· Strong understanding of IS/IEC standards such as IEC 62548, IS 3043, IEC 62305, etc.
Coordination & Communication
· Collaborate with civil, electrical, procurement, and project management teams.
· Participate in client calls and technical meetings during pre-bid and execution stages.
· Manage timelines, handle pressure situations, and ensure smooth engineering handovers.
Skills & Competencies:
· Strong understanding of utility-scale solar PV design and engineering workflows.
· Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and contractual documents.
· Good communication and presentation skills for client-facing discussions.
· Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tenders and work under tight deadlines.
· Familiarity with cost optimization and value engineering principles.
Education Qualification:
· B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering (required).
· M. Tech in Energy / Electrical Engineering (preferred).
· 7–8 years of experience in solar EPC design, techno-commercial engineering, or pre-bid engineering roles.
